My car is old and decrepit, so it leaks fluids (once again)
Why in the fuck is it leaking I just fixed it

And I thought rotaries used more oil
Ugh. Back to the garage I go. I took a peek underneath and I’ve seen where the leak is coming from. Hopefully it’s just a loose oil pan bolt and not the actual gasket failing.
Either that or I’ll get angry enough with the car to just go “screw it” and spray it with enough sealant to make it watertight.

That’s oil and not AC condensate?

Agreed....that liquid looks a lot like water.
When in doubt, touch it and smell it.....words to live by.

It is. I haven’t run my AC since y’know... it doesn’t really work anyways.

Mine recently developed a leak in the power steering. Maybe yours did too?

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me that my car was leaking because of the ac condensate...
...at least they’re trying to be helpful.
Honorable mention was when the rad in the Catera blew. Steaming like a sauna, pissing coolant everywhere, stuck at a light trying to make a right so I can limp it to a spot to cool and refill and pedestrians are flagging me down to tell me it’s leaking. Thanks ever so much. W hat would I do without you?

Wow that’s worse than my Jaguar, almost as bad as the TR6

Fun fact, I had a series of posts where I fixed my power steering.
It’s motor oil. Gave it a good sniff.

It follows the leveling of the parking lot. It was dripping for 4 hours straight, so based on my rough estimate from what I saw on my dipstick, I lost about 1/4 qt of oil.

I’ll have to take a look. That might be in my near future.

What is that?

got it , makes sense. And more than just a drippy plug then too, boo ... good luck.

Which is what worries me, since it’s clearly on the oppo site side of the drain plug. It looks like it’s leaking directly from the front-right side of the pan.
Hopefully a few cranks will fix the issue.
